Another TV show with Glitter: The People’s Strictly

This week, we’ve seen the launch of a new version of one of our favourite shows ‘Strictly Come Dancing’: The People’s Strictly.

In this show, instead of celebrities, we will see real-life heroes dancing and singing on the famous ballroom floor.

But what we most like of the show is the setting, because there is glitter EVERYWHERE!! The show was launched this week and it will last for 28 days! – So if you haven’t seen it yet, you have still plenty of time to see our Glitter!

BBrown Rowlux in Medical Clinic in Poland

Polish designer Iwona Blauth has used different Muraspec Group products to design the interiors of the Medical Clinik Prima Dent in Ropczyce, Southern Poland.

The designer, who says she has always liked Muraspec products since they launched in Poland, loves playing with light, as you can see in these pictures.

She has successfully created a variety of effects by choosing Muraspec’s Meteor Storm and Digital wallcoverings, as well as bbrown Rowlux Illusion Film.

Meteor Storm is perfect for catching the light due to its metallic content and is available in 15 colourways. See them all here. It complements the digitally printed wallcovering where dark backgrounds are combined with bright light points.

BBrown Rowlux Illusion Film is a sheet material that uses light to create movement. A favourite of Visual Merchandisers and Events teams the world over, we think it looks fantastic used on the walls.

Stars in Their Eyes is back!

The nation’s favourite has been missing from our Saturday night viewing since December 2006 when it was last hosted by Cat Deeley. The very first show, way back in 1990 was hosted by Lesley Crowther, saw the first 5 contestants step through the doors & smoke, transformed into stars Kylie Minogue, Shirley Bassey, John Lennon, Frank Sinatra & Roger Whitaker.

As the lights changed, the music started & they gave it their all. The set was fairly simple in its design but the clear change of lighting colours gave each contestant a set which looked different to the one before it. Simple but effective .

Take a look back to the first ever show from 21st July 1990 in here.

Its was a huge success & a Saturday night viewing hit was born, peaking in the 1990s under best known & loved host, Matthew Kelly who fronted the show for 11 years.

“Tonight Matthew I’m going to be…“ couldn’t resist it!

The revamped 2015 has a new host – madcap Harry Hill, who incidentally once performed as Morrissey on the show. Harry brings his own unique zany style to the show. Its early doors & his slapstick, don’t take us too serious style has divided opinion, but one thing that isn’t in doubt for us anyway is the sensational stage set. More glamorous than ever, the designer cleverly uses Glitter Jazz Platinum to add all the sparkle these look-a-like, sound-a-like stars can handle while making full use it’s capability to carry vibrant colour with every lighting colour change flick of the switch. Every act gets a new look.

I know we bleat on about Glitter fabric but this is a great example of just how versatile it is. It really is a perfect for stage sets. It’s no wonder that the cameras & set designers love it.

Here are just a few of the colour changes this one silver glitter set above under went in one show.

Jane Bowler uses bbrown in her designs!

Innovative, bold and experimental are just three words to describe the London based Jane Bowler brand. It is clear from Jane’s recent nomination for the honoured ‘Material Innovation Award’ (supported by the Clothworkers foundation) that material choice is hugely central to the brand, hence the strong relationship which has been built between Jane Bowler and bbrown.

The aesthetics of stand-out colours and geometric shapes are complimented by the variety of materials which we are able to use from bbrown, at Jane Bowler. Some of the favourites which have been used throughout the collections are the Glitter Jazz and Polished PVC plastics. Whilst in the upcoming weeks the ROWLUX  Illusion films will be incorporated into Jane Bowler in a new way; as part of the materials used in a new shop window display all the way across the globe at H Lorenzo in Los Angeles. It is currently an exciting time for the Jane Bowler brand, especially with the marathon of fashion weeks, which is just around the corner.

Inspired by the possibility of creating ‘wearable art’, each collection has its own distinctive style but still all belong to the innovation and ambition which drive the brand forward. Each season brings more experimentation with materials, techniques and shape which contribute to Jane Bowlers growing position within the luxury market as well as increasing features across fashion press, both online and in print.
